Persepolis: The Story of a Childhood by Marjane Satrapi

Indian Killer By Sherman Alexie

So It Begins

This is the first entry on this project and I am honestly not sure where this will all go. I have the idea in my head that this will become a space in which I can explore not only the books that I read, but hopefully the connection that they have to my own views as well as the relationships between knowledge. In all honesty the more I learn and explore, the more I am drawn to the notion that there is an integration of knowledge that I need to explore. My interests are so vast and there must be a way to pull them togeather in order to understand and be involved in the world. In some ways I am searching for a unified understanding of everything. The desire to have a unified theory is present in many disciplines and I don't see why I can explore the unification of unified knowledge. Knowledge is the key to human development and dignity. This is followed by the act of creation. I hope that I can take knowledge and through its integration into my own schema, I can create new understandings.

As you know the goal of this project was to read a book a week and then refelect on its place in my own life and understanding of the world. I know this is the first of the new year, but I have allready begun the project. I have read four books in the last two weeks and I hope I can keep this pace up for the rest of the year.
